Posted at December 31, 1969, 6:00 pm: If we don't support the carnival, there will only be one show in town. Back when we started on Ebay (in 1997), we made plenty of money. The site was growing fast and sales were strong. Instead of cultivating the venue, Ebay got greedy. Because of site changes, our profits fell considerably. They do what they want, because there is no competition. If we don't look to support other venues, we place ourselves in their hands. Should we all place ourselves in the palm of Ebay? Do they have our best interests at heart? Over one year ago, we started our own venue, not out of greed, but out of necessity. Today, our auction venue gets 30k hits a day. Almost every item has a bid. Instead of raising our fees, we have lowered them as sales increased. Today we get over 1 million hits a month. We are not Bidville with half a million items (and as many categories) and no bids. We are sterlingbidz.com with 700 items in 10 categories and strong bids. Check the items yourself. The bids are stronger than on Ebay. All we want are honest sellers who care about their product & customers. We strive to keep the venue clean and honest. Does Ebay even care about that?
